Generally not: Isolated pituitary tumors generally are not genetic. These are the majority of the pituitary tumors and include prolactin, growth hormone, and non-secreting pituitary tumors. There are associations with other tumors: the multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome-1 (mens-1) that are believed to be genetic linked. This is inherited in an autosomal dominant fashion.
