ADA: As long as toothpaste is american dental association approved, you're going to benefit from using it. If not ada approved, you may potentially end up with higher decay rate, perio inflammation, and/or both.

Yes but not required: Aloe vera will heal sores if they happened to be in your gum or your mouth. However, with limited exposure and the amount of salivary movement in the oral cavity, bioavailability of these products at a therapeutic level is questionable. A regular toothpaste and proper brushing and flossing technique is all we needed for a good clean, healthy teeth and gum. Save your money. Get a regular paste!

It's how you use it!: It's the frequency and how well you brush your teeth that is more important than what you use as a toothpaste. Flossing once a day thoroughly and brushing with any toothpaste that helps motivate you is all you need.
