Folliculitis?: This sounds like folliculitis, and from your description this is in the pubic hair area, right? Common skin bacteria like staph or strep often are responsible. If no fever, spreading redness, etc, then try local hygiene, i.e. soap and water washing 2-3 times a day. If that doesn't help after 2-3 days, take him to the doctor. This should be quick and easy to diagnose and treat.
