A member asked:

For what length of time do mouth ulcers take to heal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Variable: An ulceration is by definition a break in the surface epithelium. There are a variety of causes for why it may occur; however, in general the ulcer should resolve within two weeks. Any lesion present in the mouth for longer than two weeks should be evaluated for potential biopsy.
