Burning: Burning discomfort around the back of the shoulder on sitting in certain positions may be caused by musculoskeletal or nerve tissue stress or stretching. Apparently this symptom doesn't occur when you're up and about and physically active. If it does or worsens, I recommend consulting an orthopedic specialist for evaluation and advice. An xray or MRI may be ordered depending upon the assessment
