No: The symptoms described sound typical of yeast infection. It would not hurt to use monistat, at least for 3 days. If symptoms don't improve, make an appointment to be seen

Treats yeast: Monistat only treats yeast. If you feel certain that your current issues are from a yeast infection then it is appropriate to try an over the counter yeast medication. If you are uncertain or if you do not respond to the treatment then consider seeing a doctor for testing
