BP variation: Yes. BP changes with every heart beat. This is controlled by many systems in your body. The goal of this regulation is to keep blood flow to your brain constant. BP tends to go down when you go to sleep and be higher in AM than PM. Best way to learn this in yourself is to take your own BP and observe. It is normal for it to vary by at least 40/20 around the clock.

Blood pressure.: Certain things can increase blood pressure in the short term - salty meal, sleep deprivation, smoking a cigarette, weight training exercise, stress/anxiety/anger, OTC cold remedies or anti-inflammatories.
