It depends: The best method to lighten or get rid of moles depend on the type of mole it is. In some cases, the best treatment is to remove it completely so that it does not return. In other cases, lasers can help significantly. Having a dermatologist or plastic surgeon evaluate you will determine the type of mole and best method of treatment.

Mole: The best way to remove a mole is minor surgery performed by a dermatologist. Creams will not lighten a pigmented mole.
