Chronic diarrhea (6 years) +pain, lactoferrin in stools, ct scan a few weeks ago. dr. says i am constipated and suggests miralax? why? will that help

Encoporesis.: It could be you have a stool burden and if so the miralax might help. However, it sounds like your primary problem is with digestion. I would talk to your doctor about seeing a GI specialist. You may find help with changing your diet and trying a probiotic.

Diarrhea 6 yrs: Miralax will help iif you are constipated, a temporary fix. If you alternate between diarrhea and constipation a condition called IBS may your problem. Then it could be an food allergy, such as gluten intolerence
