Is it ok to take probiotics, in particular vsl 3, while breast feeding and taking antibiotic?

Yes!: If you take antibiotics - it disturb normal bowel flora and makes you prone to yeast and other more aggressive infections . VSL is life probiotic like Yogurt etc. “ Medical food” . It is safe in breastfeeding . Take it at least 1 hour apart from antibiotics ( so it doesn’t get “ killed” ) . Keep healthy diet and well hydrated . Eat fresh fruit and veggies daily . All what baby needs .

No harm, no benefit: Probiotics have not been shown to have any beneficial effect. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
