Ive had the sore throught for about 2-3 weeks from a cold i had and the spots i see in the back are not on my tonsils and showed up about two days ago. ?

Dr. can check throat: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is very painful, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep). Some throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) can temporarily lessen pain.
