Gastroenteritis: A viral gastrointestinal tract infection or food poisoning are likely. Treatment consists of resting, drinking adequate fluids, avoiding roughage in diet, drinking flat ginger ale to settle nausea and taking kaopectate or imodium to control diarrhea after having several movements to clear toxins. You should tolerate saltine crackers and broths to start with. See MD if not improved.
