Hi, i am currently experiencing a lot of pain during intercourse, where i sometime cannot even allow my partner in, i have been told to have a fenton procedure, will this help or is there another option?

Fenton procedure: The Fenton procedure is a surgery to remove scar tissue at the base of the vagina above the anus (perineum) that is usually present from a previous episiotomy or scar tissue from a tear during vaginal delivery. If scar tissue is the issue causing pain it may be helpful. Your obgyn will need to do an exam and help determine the cause of pain and offer various options for treatment

IF the pain is: due to scar tissue or some other NARROWING of your vaginal entrance the FENTON procedure has a good chance of relieving your problem...HOWEVER other reasons for dyspareunia (painful intercourse such as ENDOMETERIOSIS should be ruled out! Hope this is helpful Dr Z
