Leukemia Tumor: To understand this, you need to understand acute leukemia, which is the abnormal proliferation of white blood cells. This usually happens in the bone marrow. These millions of leukemia cells usually spill into the blood. Rarely, however, they can clump together to form a solid mass somewhere else in the body, like in a muscle or skin. This is called a myeloid sarcoma.
