Orthotics: Flat foot or pes planus can be treated if painful with several conservatve measures. One is custom orthotics with physical therapy. Therapy will help with reducing the inflammation thus pain reduction. Anti inflammatories help if taken properly with inflammation. Finally ice, rest and compression bands can help allievate the pain. Surgery is rare and only if conservative tx fails.
