A member asked:

I went to my gp today, and he burnt off my wart using something that looked like a welding machine. is this normal? my skin is black from being burnt and i have a hole in my finger. i still see the white root inside.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It can: A well supplied primary doc will have either cautery or a cryopen available to remove warts. Whether chemicals, burning, cutting or freezing there will be a hole because 2/3 of warts are under the surface. The treatment kills skin cells. It also grows back often no matter how it's removed.
