Violent productive coughing . wheezing. on omeprazole 20 years. pulmanologist says lungs are ok. do i blame this on gerd?

Mgt.: GERD may contribute and if you have a fever, please see your PCP to rule out pneumonia. Pertussis and bronchospasm should be ruled out. In addition, have you had a choking episode- if something iis lodged in the airway, cough may result. I would suggest an appointment with your PCP. If you hear wheezing, and are having difficulty breathing please see the ED.
