A member asked:

Older sister flicked top part of my ear (helix) hurt a little when she did it, which is now soft and a bit red, will there be any hearing/ear damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Injury to the helix will not cause hearing loss. If the site of injury develops a lump or ulcerates, it would be prudent to see a doctor, in case it got infected and needs to be treated with antibiotics. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
