A member asked:

If i had genital warts. can i have unprotected sex in the future to get pregnant? that my partner can't get the virus or my baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most do: Genital warts transfer most easily during a visible outbreak. You can have yours removed or they may disappear within 2 years naturally. There is some risk or transfer after clearing but less so. Partners can sometimes avoid it with condoms but not always. Babies can acquire it during vaginal birth if the virus is shedding & get vocal cord or genital warts. They would appear by age 2 if ever.
