Is it recommend to switch from mirena iud to copper and what are disadvantages ?

IUD types: The copper IUD is smaller and easier to install, and does have a slightly better protection against pregnancy. The Mirena contains a progestin which can influence the period cycles. If it is time for a change in IUD's, overall the one containing copper is a good choice.
