A member asked:

I stretched my left arm over my left breast today and i have pain on my upper breast (on the bone) did i pull a muscle? what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal worries: First of all, breast pain is very unlikely to be associated with anything serious. Cancers, with extremely rare exceptions, do not hurt. You could have pulled a muscle, but your description suggests costochondritis. Cartilege connects ribs to breast bone and it is not unusual for the area where rib and cartilege meet to become inflamed and painful. It is annoying but will gradually go away.
