Gold: I don't know the rules in South Africa, but here in the US government funded dental care usually covers functional rather than esthetic treatment. If your tooth is healthy, it should not be restored. If it is unhealthy, gold may or may not be the best restorative material. Discuss this with your Dentist who can better answer questions about your governments funding policies.
