I got severe g6pd deficiency. can i take amoxil?

Can ask one's doctor: The usual worry is that patients with G6PD deficiency have a higher rate of breakage of their red blood cells if their bodies are undergoing a stressful event, thus leading to jaundice (pigments from broken red blood cells cause the jaundice color) and anemia (related to low red blood cell count). Haven't heard of amoxicillin or penicillin causing increased problems in G6PD-deficient patients.
