i have server lower back pain but when i lift my left leg up the pain goes away.. what could that be?

Depends: We need more information to help focus on the cause. It could be pinched nerve but lifting the leg usually makes that worse. It could be muscle, joint, bursa, tendon. Heat may help some of this. You will need an evaluation to clarify.
