A member asked:

My implanon is 4 months expired. will i need surgery to get it removed? also, why are my breasts so tender?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Expired Implanon: If you mean Implanon was supposed to be replaced four months ago secondary to the date of expiration, your normal cycles will start, and the hormones in your true cycle contain estrogen, which has a direct effect on breast tissue. If pregnancy is a concern, get a serum HCG test from your healthcare provider. Removing Implanon is very minor surgery.
