Spasm: Sounds like muscle spasm and should be self limiting. Try some hot moist heat or a heating pad. Also an anti inflammatory such as Ibuprofen or Aleeve. Good Luck

Sore back: If there is no recent injury, these back symptoms are most likely muscular and ligamental. Inflammatory chemicals are released causing more diffuse back involvement. To combat these take anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Aleve,if you're able to. Applying alternating cold and heat and rubbing in liniments like bengay help. When able perform stretching exercises while lying on a mat.

Try OTC meds: if not allergic I suggest NSAIDS like either Advil or Aleve PLUS a strong topical liniment like Bio-Freeze.

Back pain: Likely strain, stick with NSAID and local therapy. As long as improving likely need no other therapy. Expect a week or two to improve.
