What is the recommended treatment for a 3.8cm nodule on a thyroid gland?

Thyroid mass: Should have ultrasound guided needle biopsy. If calcifications present on US, could be thyroid cancer.

Work up: Need more information. You should have had thyroid function tests (a blood test), and an ultrasound of the thyroid with FNA (fine needle aspiration). The results of these tests will dictate the appropriate treatment, which could be simple observation to surgery to remove the thyroid gland with further drug treatment/radiation.
