A member asked:

Hi,i have charcofot in my rite foot recently iv developed a really excruciating stabbing pain an burning in my heels sometimes can't lift leg of floor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neuropathy: Even though Charcot's arthropathy is usually associated with a loss of sensation in the foot and ankle, a painful neuropathy can coexist with the loss of sensation. The nerve damage (neuropathy) may be starting higher up than the foot. Start with your primary care physician or your endocrinologist if you have diabetes. The painful heel is not typically part of the Charcot's arthropathy.
