Yes it is likely to.: Sore throat from virus infections(Head clods) are common....we all get it at least once or twice a year. There is no good treatment for it but it resolves itself within 2-3 weeks. So you do not need to worry....it will be gone in one more week.

URI: Upper Respiratory Infections are usually viral and will resolve. Consider Tylenol/Motrin for aches and pains, saline nasal wash follow with a steroid nasal spray, drink lots of liquids like tea with honey for the sore throat and rest. Just like Grandama recommended.
