Depends on type: Survival after surgery for liver cancer depends on the nature of the cancer, whether it is primary (cancer is from the liver), or secondary (cancer goes to the liver). It also depends on the underlying condition of the liver, does it have cirrhosis? It depends on the size and number of cancer lesions and whether other structures in the liver are affected. Lastly it depends on the type of surgery.
