STD testing: intercourse does not cause bladder infections. Consider getting STD testing to make sure you are not carrying anything. He should too. Sometimes intercourse causes trauma causing irritation around the urethra. Vaginal lubricant can often help.

Sex and UTI in women: Sex often triggers UTI in women. Not an STD, nothing you catch from your partner and he doesn't need treatment. Some women have bacteria that cause UTI near the vaginal opening, which are massaged into the urethra during sex. Low dose of antibiotic after sex (or about 3x a week, whichever is less frequent) can be effective prevention. Discuss w/ your doc, or see infectious diseases specialist.
