Enema: Purchase a fleets enema. Lie on your side on a plastic Blanket or towel. Bend both knees. Don't force the enema nozzle while inserting it into the rectum and apply gentle pressure to the bottle.. Try to retain the liquid for at least ten minutes before sitting on the toilet. Higher enemas are available but I recommend having a nurse administering them.

None: These were promoted by cancer quacks in the early 20th cenetury and are used today only by charlatans. People have died from them. If you think you have been suckered by a sweet-talking, seemingly-knowledgeable crook, contact your district attorney or the state board of healing arts.

Is it safe to give yourself an enema using the bag?

Dr. Mark Wert

Enemas: Using the enema bag specifically designed for such? The answer is yes but. Generally the otc fleets or saline enemas are more than sufficient. Anything more you should generally have some assistance, do such carefully, stop if you have pain. I would ask you to consult with your physician as to why you are so constipated. Try increasing fiber and adding miralax (polyethylene glycol). Stay hydrated!

That amount has a: High likelihood of doing serious harm. If she truly needs help with serious constipation a fleet's enema will do the job. If it does not seek medical attention next.
