The Emergency Room can evaluate severe stomach pain, if the primary care or regular doctor is not able to help right away. Many things are between (or near) the belly button and the bottom of the ribs, such as: liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas, duodenum, transverse colon, abdominal wall muscles, etc...
