A member asked:

I have found a small hard lump on my daughter's areola. she says it's not painful. it can't be puberty related as she is only 5 years old. almost looks like a montgomery gland but it is hard. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Areolar lump/5 y.o.: If the lump is only on one breast areola, it may be a small cyst, which is not usually serious and will resolve often on its own. Have your pediatrician examine your daughter to see if other tests are necessary.
