More information: is needed...has this individual had THYROID HORMONE replacement therapy??/ This generally will "shrink" NTMG ...and if not thyroid surgery is generally offered! Hope this is helpful' Dr Z

Non toxic MNG: You should have an ultrasound. If any nodule is larger than 1 cm and has suspicious sonographic features, it should have an us guided fine needle biopsy. Management would proceed based on cytology results. Some results need further molecular testing of the biopsy specimen. If there are symptoms from the masses of the Thyroid, surgery may be offered regardless of cytology.
