Is hzo (shingles) in the eyes an std? can i infect another person with it when the virus is active?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Shingles": Shingles is a herpes variant, caused by a re-emergence of the virus which causes "chicken pox" . It is rare at your age, b/c it implies losing your immunity. If you never had chicken pox, having it will produce immunity for decades more. It is communicable to those who also have not had chicken pox.
