Could frequent nose bleeds in children be caused by behavioral problems?

Many causes...: Nose bleeds in kids can be caused by a number of things. The number one cause by far is nose picking. Dry skin inside the nose can also be a problem (a little vaseline can help). Friable blood vessels in nose can be cause (need to see ENT to get treatment). Lastly, low platelets can cause pretty severe nose bleeds (>20 minutes). Treatment depends on cause of low platelets.

Unlikely: The nose is covered inside by thin membranes& many capillaries that add moisture to dry air when we breathe. Conditions that irritate the nose, like pollen, dust, smoke etc.Often drive a child to rub the nose or pick it.Half awake kids often rub their face in their pillow & you find a bloody pillowcase in the morning. In 30+ yrs of treating kids, I have never heard of a behavioral disorder with this.
