A member asked:

I had protected sex with my girlfriend about a week ago. we used a condom and i pulled out. she got her period normal, im but scared about pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy unlikely: Teen girls can get pregnant very easily because they are healthy, young, and fertile. The "pull-out" method is not reliable for preventing pregnancy (but condoms work great). A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result, if done correctly, 1 week after missing a period or 3 weeks after sex. Getting pregnant as a teen can really mess up school and career plans, so think smartly and plan ahead.
