Pain or breathing: A new heart problem will usually cause chest discomfort or pain, or decreased exercise tolerance. So a patient may feel extra tired on trying to walk, or have sudden difficulty with breathing going up stairs that was not present previously. Obviously these are not uncommon symptoms and can be related to other things like lack of regular exercise. Recent new symptoms is a reason to see an md.
