A member asked:

Hello. what medication can u prescribe for a female to stop producing milk, i.e. she is trying to stop breast feeding. thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No medication, but: if a nursing mother substitutes a bottle or cup for one breast feeding each day or every 2 days, so by 6 d, instead of 6 nursings/d, there will be only none (or 3, if every o day). There will be some breast discomfort or fullness, and this can be relieved by just nursing to relieve pressure and not emptying the breast. Also wear a tight bra. Breast milk is healthy for infants. Reconsider choice.
