Not useful: Rubella vaccine should not be given earlier than 12 months of age.Rubella infection in children is usually a mild disease. If a woman develops rubella infection while pregnant, the effects on the developing fetus may be horrific. In the US, pregnant women are screened for immunity to Rubella, and are vaccinated if they are susceptible. Anyone in contact with your affected relative should beware.
