Labor induction: It is a patient choice to be induced, but may be medically necessary if the fetus is upper normal in size/weight. Induction of labor at a documented 39 weeks has no negative effects on the fetus or the mother. Make sure your dates are correct (ultrasound at earlier stage of pregnancy) . Induction reduces the chance of a cesarean section.
