Agree with Dr. L: If you have any concerns, it would be prudent to see a doctor. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain, not a moral failing. Exercise is as good as antidepressant medication. Try engaging in aerobic exercise at least 30 minutes/day. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV vaccine

Change in function: Depression is diagnosed on the basis of specific signs & symptoms, starting with persistent low or irritable mood, marked changes in sleep and appetite (increased or decreased), fatigue, and maybe thoughts of self-harm. If you have several such symptoms, start with your physician to see if there's a physical cause or if you'd benefit from an assessment for depression. It's highly treatable!
