Benign cyst: Most lumps in the vulvar area are not contagious or life threatening. Cysts arise from a blocked skin gland, either Skene's duct cysts or Bartholin's cysts. Warm sitz baths can help; sometimes a doctor needs to incise and drain/I and D. A blocked hair follicle is most common "bump", along with clogged sweat glands.May require antibiotics/I and D. Genital herpes and other viruses also cause "bumps"
