A member asked:

We are trying to conceive. had my mirena out sept 13. took 35 for a period. next cycles was 40 days. ovulated ~day25. are longer cycles bad for eggs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

35-40 day cycle: Periods after Mirena is "out" should be unaffected, and represent the individual pituitary output of the hormone which causes ovulation. Ovulation occurs almost always 14 days before one's period, so the egg's "age" is always about the same, even with longer times between periods.
