Why having scan?: Slightly heterogenous hypo echoic thyroid can represent Graves disease (idiopathic hyperthyroidism. However increase heterogeneity may be seen in thyroiditis such as hashimoto's disease. Gland usually enlarged and hypervascular with Graves disease. Hashimoto's can be vascular early and decrease with time in vascularity and size. Meaning of ultrasound findings to be correlated with clinical signs
