Still debated: This is a simple question with a complex answer. Like all medicinal substances, cannabis has both risks & benefits. While calming to most, it causes anxiety & paranoia in some. It can impair short-term memory, reduce co-ordination & increase risk of motor-vehicle accidents in those under the influence. Some become "addicted, " using it as an escape from their problems.
