Pain: If your symptoms are transient, I do not think you should have to quit doing handstands. I got in an accident and have a plate in my arm. Pesistent pain, but I find activity actually helps.

Get checked: Sometimes the plates migrate and sometimes there is ongoing issues with tendon and cartilage. Recommend see your doctor for examination/consideration of further investigations and take a break from doing handstand until seen and happy no issue like that that may be aggravated by doing handstands.
