Early dose of bcp's: It is better to limit the length of time on the placebo pills ( the last seven) to five days between the last active pill and the first of the new package. This is much safer regarding birth control. In this case, just continue with the next active pill and take them in the evening, and at less than one hour from the time you took the last active pill. Less risk of pregnancy.

Continue pills: Continue your oral contraceptive pills until end of the cycle. Have a period then re-start your pills on the regular schedule. If you absolutely do not want to take a chance on pregnancy then use a backup means of contraception until you re-start the 2nd pack. Contact your GYN MD who prescribed the pills for the final word on this advice.
