A member asked:

I went to er last night with severe abdominal pain. they said my liver level was 110 and need to follow up with pcp. had gallbladder out in may?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCP can evaluate: Many things are in the upper abdomen: stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, large intestine, abdominal muscles, etc... An exam by a primary care doctor can help figure things out. Pain in the right upper abdomen, plus symptoms that occur after eating, can be due to gallstones (maybe bile duct stones if no gall bladder anymore). One's primary care physician can help diagnose the liver issue.
